Year 10 and 11 pupils at Coedcae have been taking part in the school heats of ‘Future Chef’ competition. Pupils had to design a menu on a budget of £6 and had an 90 minutes to cook their dishes.
Lori Wetton of Year 11 won the county heat, judged by local chefs with an interesting combination of vegetarian dishes. She cooked a mushroom Wellington with stilton sauce and mange tout and a ginger and passion fruit trifle.
Lori also went on to represent the school at Tycoch College at the next heat on Friday 4th December.
The judges were particularly impressed with the contrasting flavours of the main course. She now goes on to represent the area at the next round in Wrexham in February. If successful, Lori will go onto the finals in London next year.
